How To Spa
Appointments
We recommend scheduling an appointment in advance with The Secret Kingdom's Day Spa at (281) 259-1696. Although reserved appointments are best, we always encourage you to ask about any immediate openings available when visiting our shop. Appointments are booked by phone with a 50% deposit fee by a major credit card or in person with cash. (Cash deposits must bring in receipt of deposit on treatment day.)
Cancellations
Please be courteous to your therapist by calling 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. You must speak with the receptionist at The Day Spa counter to receive a cancellation reference number. In emergency situations please call as soon as possible. No-shows will be charged the deposit fee.
Changes
48-hour notice is necessary to change treatments to ensure we have the appropriate therapist or esthetician to administer treatment.
Punctuality
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to all first treatments to allow ample time to check in at the Day Spa counter with the receptionist, fill out a brief pretreatment form and unwind. Late arrivals will affect the length of treatment to avoid inconvenience to other spa guest appointments.
Personal Belongings
At check-in you will be given the option to use one of the Day Spa's lockers to store your belongings. You may also choose to keep your items with you. We recommend leaving your valuables at home, as The Secret Kingdom is not liable for lost or stolen personal items.
Upon Arriving
You will be greeted by your therapist or esthetician and taken to The Day Spa's consultation room for a complimentary consultation. Please inform your therapist or esthetician of any medical issues, injuries, surgeries or allergies so that your experience can be as enjoyable as possible. We also ask that you use this time to go over any questions or needs concerning your treatment to avoid disrupting the peaceful atmosphere during treatment we strive to provide our guests.
During Your Visit
Prior to treatment your therapist will give you opportunity to undress to your level of privacy. Keep in mind, therapists have been trained to use modest draping techniques often uncovering only the area being worked on. A robe and slippers will be provided for use in the Day Spa. For guest receiving multiple treatments within the Day Spa & Salon a robe and slippers may be used throughout the day. (Undergarments must be worn when moving about the Spa and Salon.) Disposable undergarments are given for use in body treatments and wraps to preserve your personal clothing.
Quiet
So that an atmosphere of relaxation and a feeling of escape can be maintained, we ask that as a courtesy to all guests in the Spa, that cell phones and pagers be turned off. Texting is strictly prohibited within the Spa enclosure.
Gratuity
Tipping is left to your discretion, generally a 15 to 20% gratuity is customary and greatly appreciated. Gratuity is not added to individual or packaged treatments. A 20% gratuity can be added to gift certificates to complete the perfect gift! A 20% gratuity will automatically be added to large Spa parties and corporate Spa events.
After Treatment
Your therapist or esthetician will leave your room to allow you to redress. Upon exiting the Day Spa enclosure you will be given a voucher for a refreshing herbal tea or coffee in our Dragonfly Cafe.
Spa Rules and Tips
Children that are not receiving spa treatments are not allowed in the Day Spa enclosure.
Guest under 16 yrs old receiving treatment must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian waiver must be presented for service.
Please note that body treatments and massage can not be given in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.
For wraps, waxing and facials it is best to avoid shaving within the previous 24 hours to avoid aggravating the skin.
Please avoid massage treatments during a sunburn.
Please avoid drinking alcohol or ingesting heavy foods before a Spa treatment.
Disrespectful behavior towards your therapist will automatically end your treatment with no refund.
The Secret Kingdom employees natural health practitioners. All massage and body treatments are in the focus of improved health and healing.
